Fredric Provenzano, Ph.D., NCSP is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist.
Fredric Provenzano, Ph.D., NCSP is a licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist, His private psychology practice focuses on individual and family therapy with older children, adolescents, and adults. He also provides psychological and psycho-educational evaluations and consultations to help students and their parents to select interventions and programs that will maximize their learning and development. In addition, Dr. Provenzano was an affiliate faculty member of the School Psychology and Counseling training programs at the University of Washington for over 30 years. A graduate of The Ohio State University, he earned his M.Ed. and Ph.D. from the University of Washington’s Counseling Psychology Program.
Dr. Provenzano’s professional writing has included chapters on allowance and chores for children, professional ethics, intellectual giftedness, anger management, and psychological consultation. he is a national workshop presenter and speaker on professional ethics and anger management.
He has been interviewed in Child and Parenting magazines, and in numerous newspapers including The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Chicago Tribune, and The Seattle Times, on topics including children’s video use, children’s chores, the imapct of TV news on children, and academic redshirting.
As former president of the Washington State Association of School Psychologists and Washington State Delegate to the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), he served as the Western Regional Representative to the NSAP Ethics Committee from 2009-2017. He also served in NASP as Convention Chair as well as on the Executive Council as Delegate Representative from the Western Region and as Program Manager for Professional Development. As a graduate assistant to Maurice Frehill, Ed.D. at the University of Washington, he was involved in designing research in gifted assessment.
